While it is necessary to have all knowledge of salvation (Step A) and to have it quickened by GOD so that you believe (Step B), to bear fruit requires a focus on it, to the detriment of other thoughts. In Romans 4:19, Abraham had every opportunity to let doubt and unbelief counteract his faith. They were believing for a son and yet both he and Sara were of advanced age. Yet the scripture says that he “considered not” any of these issues that might have led to unbelief. For this reason, his faith was able to overcome the negative physical circumstances and Sara was eventually able to bear an heir.
Once you have heard the truth in your ear and you know it in your heart then Satan will change tactics. At this point, the word has been firmly planted into the soil of your heart and is deeply rooted. So the only war to stop the seed from bearing fruit is to contaminate the soil with weeds to try and choke the word. In practical terms, Satan will look to drive you into doubt and unbelief, to make you ineffective in the Word that you have received. This is why the scripture tells us to 'get angry'. The instruction is not to get angry at people. They only act the way that they do because of their unbelief. No, our anger should be directed at the devil, along with the doubts and unbelief that he is trying to sow in your heart to make you unfruitful. The scripture tells us to never let the sun go down on this type of anger, i.e. never let up on the Devil.
Psychologists label some emotions as `positive’ such as happiness, excitement, and calm, whereas other emotions are labelled as `negative’ such as sadness, boredom, and fear. Yet the labels are somewhat misleading as there is nothing intrinsically negative about emotions within their right context. For example, imagine that you had to cross a very busy road on a misty morning when your visibility was limited. The negative emotion of fear, within this context, would be entirely appropriate. The adrenaline rush, caused by experiencing fear, would help to wake you up, increasing your alertness for the task at hand, and improving your chances of successfully crossing the road. So, we understand that negative emotions such as anger or fear are not negative at all when used within their right context and equally, positive emotions can be extremely damaging when not used in their correct context.
